Santa Claus

Santa Claus is a very special man who travels all over the world on Christmas Eve to bring presents to good little girls and boys. He enjoys eating cookies, and he has 9 very special pets: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen & Rudolph. Santa is married to Mrs. Claus and lives at the North Pole. He enjoys traveling to Costa Rica and playing shuffleboard in the off season.

I am a teacher at a North Fulton County middle school and have been teaching for six years. I currently teach students with and without special needs in the inclusion setting and am the grant writing contact for my school. I have been happily married to Ken for many years, and have two adult children, Alan and Elizabeth, living in Tennessee and New York.

My background is very eclectic because I have lots of interests. Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to get training in and to work with all of them. I have a BS degree in business from the University of Alabama, an MBA from Samford University in Alabama, an Interrelated Special Education certification from Georgia State, an Ed.S. degree from Lincoln Memorial University in TN, and a cosmetology license from Tennessee Academy of Cosmetology. I co-managed a branch as an assistant vice president at a major bank in Alabama and ran a cosmetology department as a teacher at a TN high school

I’ve also collaborated with numerous charities in three states on behalf of children for education and artistic purposes, from education boards to foundations. My fondest charitable experience was co-chairing the charity auction for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) whose funds sent the musicians to Carnegie Hall. Going forward, I would like to work on behalf of children as a school administrator.

What Makes You Proud to B-Who-U-R?

I am proud to be who I am because I think that I have found one of the main keys to happiness in life. That key is helping other people to be the best that they can be, especially children. Every day that I wake up is a miracle and every day that I can make a difference in the lives of children is an opportunity. When I am not working with children, I am color charting everyone around me so that they can look and feel their best. I most especially enjoy spending time with members of my small faith group community, where I am a facilitator.

I am a Physical Education teacher for K-5 at Tritt Elementary in Marietta, GA.  This is my third year of teaching and I absolutely love my job.  I received my degree from Harding University in Searcy, AR, and while there I was in the best group ever called the Pied Pipers.  The Pipers are an improvisational children's theater troupe who tour around the world performing for elementary kids, elderly kids, or anyone who would like to host us.  We encourage everyone to use their imagination by not using any costumes or props.  Here at Tritt I get to have my own version of the Pipers called Tritt's Theatrical Tigers. We do several activities and stories that I learned from the Pipers.  It is so much fun!  I love to act, and my dream would be to star in a movie, but if that never happens I am perfectly fine teaching PE.  I also get to host Tiger Talk News, the morning announcement show at Tritt, every Monday - Thursday.  We have a green screen so I can do amazing things with the News!!  I also love to play sports, which is why I became a PE teacher so I can be around sports all day.  This November I am getting married to my best friend Joni.  We actually met at Tritt, where she teaches 1st grade, so being able to see Joni everyday is a huge plus for my job.

WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO B- WHO –U-R?

I am proud to be me because God made me extra special.  I have extreme patience, and love to be around kids every day.  Sometimes I act more silly and crazy than my kids and I think I kind of embarrass them.  :)  I'm well rounded and love giving everything and everyone a chance!!

I am a music therapist working at Music Therapy Services of Greater Atlanta. I received my music therapy degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1998, my neurologic certification from Colorado State University in 2001, and my fellowship in 2006. I work with children and adults with a wide variety of disabilities. I get to spend my whole day -- everyday -- making music!

I also serve the community through many national and local organizations including: Continuing Education Committee for the Certification Board of Music Therapists, the Board of Directors for the Autism Society – Georgia Chapter, and the Roswell Inclusion Task Force.

I am married to Patrick and have one daughter, Jessica. When I’m not making music, I like to be at home reading, cooking or playing with my dogs!

What makes you proud to B-Who-U-R?

I am proud to be me because there is no other ME! I am proud that I’m able to try new things, create my own way, and see the positive in life and everyone around me.

Stephen Matthews

I am a Physical Education teacher at an elementary school in Roswell Ga. I have been teaching for almost 9 years and still get excited when I see students succeeding in my class. I use humor to create an atmosphere that helps students and adults feel comfortable being who they are. If you cannot laugh at yourself, then you cannot laugh at anyone. I think that when kids see me being silly and goofy they feel more comfortable and are willing to learn. At least that is my theory and I am sticking to it!!! I am married and have a four year old son who is the absolute silliest person I know, he loves me and his mother 55Red which is more than infinity. His idea, not mine- but all I know is that is a whole bunch.

What makes you proud to B-Who-U-R?

I am proud to be me because I love learning, being different and it feels good to know I potentially help create good human beings in a very hectic world. I am proud to be me because I feel I can find something in common with most anyone and can have an intelligent conversation with a little humor thrown in. I am proud to be me because I cannot be anyone else but me!!

What makes me be proud to b who u r?

The longer I live, the more I learn to appreciate and love the diversity of people in this world. I love to help young people crack their shell, see the bigger world around them and help them to learn to celebrate their similarities and differences.

WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO b-who-u-r?

I am proud to be who I am because I love bringing joy to people, especially children. In a world that is less than perfect, I like to show love and hope so that we can experience life the way we were created to live it.
